If ether1 is disable/enable other ether is too disconnect

Hello all!

I have RB750 (ROS 5.7) and i found some bug. When I disable ether1 and after enable it, all other interface temporarily go to down and after few seconds go up.

Here ouput from log:

--- Here I disable ether1
11:32:40 system,info device changed by admin
--- Here I enable ether1
11:32:41 interface,info ether2 link down
11:32:41 interface,info ether3 link down
11:32:41 interface,info ether1 link down
11:32:41 interface,info ether5 link down
11:32:42 interface,info ether2 link up (speed 100M, full duplex)
11:32:42 interface,info ether3 link up (speed 100M, full duplex)
11:32:42 interface,info ether5 link up (speed 100M, full duplex)
11:32:43 interface,info ether1 link up (speed 100M, full duplex)

And interface configuration:

/interface ethernet
set 0 arp=enabled auto-negotiation=yes comment=ISP1 disabled=no full-duplex=yes l2mtu=1600 \
    mac-address=00:0C:42:B7:FF:26 mtu=1500 name=ether1 speed=100Mbps
set 1 arp=enabled auto-negotiation=yes bandwidth=unlimited/unlimited comment=\
    "to ADSL modem" disabled=no full-duplex=yes l2mtu=1598 mac-address=00:0C:42:B7:FF:27 \
    master-port=none mtu=1500 name=ether2 speed=100Mbps
set 2 arp=enabled auto-negotiation=yes bandwidth=unlimited/unlimited disabled=no \
    full-duplex=yes l2mtu=1598 mac-address=00:0C:42:B7:FF:28 master-port=none mtu=1500 \
    name=ether3 speed=100Mbps
set 3 arp=enabled auto-negotiation=yes bandwidth=unlimited/unlimited disabled=no \
    full-duplex=yes l2mtu=1598 mac-address=00:0C:42:B7:FF:29 master-port=none mtu=1500 \
    name=ether4 speed=100Mbps
set 4 arp=enabled auto-negotiation=yes bandwidth=unlimited/unlimited disabled=no \
    full-duplex=yes l2mtu=1598 mac-address=00:0C:42:B7:FF:2A master-port=none mtu=1500 \
    name=ether5 speed=100Mbps

[admin@MikroTik] > /interface ethernet monitor ether2 without-paging
            status: link-ok
  auto-negotiation: done
              rate: 100Mbps
       full-duplex: yes

            status: no-link
  auto-negotiation: done
              rate: 10Mbps
       full-duplex: no

            status: link-ok
  auto-negotiation: done
              rate: 100Mbps
       full-duplex: yes

When I try disable/enable other interface is all ok.
Can somebody please explain me the reason why it happens.

Also i try reset configuration and on clean router it’s happens all the same

Thanks!

Mikrotik sometimes take time to respond to commands. Maybe it goes into a intermediate state of inactivity during which you get those responses.

I hope this is accurate, i also experienced such but i never do bulge.

Thanks, for your reply tosoba, but I do not agree with you.

Mikrotic does not goes into a intermediate state of inactivity, when I do it. Despite the temporary disabling of one of the interface through I connected to the router, connecting to Mikrotik is not lost. Perhaps it is because that network interface is restored quickly.

The reason why I care about it issue - is that on ether2 I created a pppoe conection, which the lost when i turn back on ether1. And I really don’t understand why router behaves like this and I think that isn’t normal.

Could someone from the Mikrotic Support Team to comment on this.

I’m sorry to bump the thread, but i have the exact same problem. Was there a response to this topic?

Thanks.
