To avoid polluting the noble 7.18rc thread, I created this separate post.
You know that the features you expect weren’t available when the hardware was released, just like with the CRS520. It has MikroTik’s most powerful switching chip, but initially, they didn’t mention support for PFC, ECN, or other QoS features.
Later, they claimed the switching ports in the middle couldn’t support PFC, but then they changed their story and said the chip manufacturer had made revisions to support it. They didn’t even conduct a thorough investigation before deciding to use that chip.
But beyond that, whether all the ports now support PFC or just some, isn’t that the return on your investment in MikroTik? Since I was in a hurry to use the equipment, I couldn’t wait for MikroTik to implement these features, so I replaced the unopened CRS520 with two SN2100, which have perfectly stable MLAG and QoS features.
On the other hand, isn’t Ros-v7 also a long-term investment voluntarily made by you users? That’s my perspective.
