IGMP proxy

Hi guys,
Does Igmp proxy just work between the interface of a router? I mean one interface upstream and another receiver of multicast traffic(down stream). or it works in a scenario that for example R1 —<>—R2----<>—R3 that for example R1 sends multicast traffic and R3 receives it.
Does igmp proxy work in the scenario that Nat is enabled?

I’d appreciate it if anybody could help me ?
Can IGMP proxy send and receive multicast data between multiple routers or does it just work between interfaces of one router ?
