I’m pretty new to all this Mikrotik stuff, but have my RB2011 configured pretty well. The only problem is I can’t use all the ports on the RB2011 due to multicast flood.
So.. my setup is this :-
Mikrotik ----------->Cisco 8 Port switch --------> Netgear GS105E -----> Netgear GS105E
WAN is on sfp1, lan on Eth1.
I’m having to use the Cisco to utilise its IGMP snooping capability, and the Netgear switches also support it and they feed two separate rooms for wired devices. The IPTV receiver is on the last Netgear Switch.
Given that currently only one network cable goes from the Mikrotik to the Cisco, I’m wondering if I can somehow limit IGMP to a particular port which will then feed to the first Netgear switch instead?
If so, how do I do that?
Also, if this is possible then I want to be able to link the interfaces so they behave like a normal switch. I could do this for the gigabit ports, but I can’t do the same with the fast ethernet, as it complains that the ports have to be on the same switch. So how do I get the fast ethernet ports to work in the same way as the gigabit ones, with access to the internet etc?
Sorry if it’s hard to understand - it’s not easy to explain!!
