IKEv2

Good Day,

Doing some research, it appears IKEv2 is still not available in Router OS. There is talk of it in RouteOS 7 from what I have seen, but there still appears to be no news of even a beta of RouterOS 7.

Does anybody have any ideas on how one could implement IKEv2 amidst using a Mikrotik Router?

I have a RB450G at my house and several other locations which I manage, mostly with RB450G but have other router boards too in the mix.

I am looking to incorporate an always-on VPN for my iOS devices. I work from home and so am looking to protect my iOS devices further. I have successfully built my own super simple iOS MDM Server, and am looking to push always-on VPN profiles, however, these require IKEv2. In light of this, I really do not want to move away from Mikrotik devices. But this always-on VPN is an important feature for me.

Do you think one could implement this somehow with a Raspberry Pi, for example, and have the necessary ports forwarded to this device, perhaps in ones DMZ, and then still gain access to the network securely that way?

I really want to keep my router boards, but also want to get my iDevices a little more secured.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks!

Not exactly IKEv2, but you can use mode-conf
