I'm new to scripting - what language?

I’m totally new to this. When writing a script is there a specific language it should use or does it not matter?

If it does matter what dictates which language to use?

Is there a begginers guide to scripting that someone can recommend?

mikrotik RouterOS uses it’s own scripting language, you need to read this manual to learn it:
