implementing hotspot

Hello Everbody.

Actually I have installed a Hostpot running over RB2011UiAS-RM and I have a Wan interface and LAN Bridge, I set up a hospot server using the wizard. So I have experimented that some times the speed of the hostpot becomes to slow, I have a 200 Mbps internet at WAN interface and my client count is over 500 user some times. I think that the router is insufficient to the requeriments, so the memory and CPU looks normal. My questions are:

  1. is this Router is small to requirements?, What model you recommend for this requirements. What articles could follow to set up correctly my hostpot. Thanks for reading me. Greetings.

Your question looks confusing.
There are two separate things :

  1. Is the router capable to handle specific bandwidth and number of users - depends on the services that you run - I prefer for CCR1009 for the number of users mentioned.
  2. How to setup hotspot - there are literally thousands of articles/blogs/videos on this :slight_smile:

I would suggest you setup a CHR and learn running all services (DHCP/DNS/Hotspot/firewall/NAT/VLAN/RADIUS, etc) then go for the implementation
