The other manufacturer (Alvarion and Airaya) have the possibility to set up variable frequencies bandwith for the Hiperlan ETSI band (5470-5725).
For example channels of 10 and 40 Mhz definable in all the ETSI band (5470-5725).
10Mhz channels they are reduced disturbs on the long distances and double the avaylable channels.
40Mhz turbo channel can double the troughput.
Here is the latest mail that I’ve received from support:
Also I looked at this Airaya, but there are no detailed info on this 40mhz channel and ETSI. In the Atheros driver none of the ETSI countries supports Turbo mode, so currently we haven't got enough information to make such changes. Also these frequencies isn't listed anywhere else, even FCC aren't using these specific frequencies for the turbo mode.
You can try to get the official information on 5Ghz Turbo mode from your countries local Telecommunication State Inspection and then report back to us.
I’ve sent it the ECC/DEC(04)08 del 12/11/2004 document
I can’t see where the problem is to reduce the channel bandwidth to 10 MHz. There only thing to regard is the Power db/MHz. So, with a 10 MHz channel only 500 mw EIRP is allowed… (Band 5470 MHz)
