Hi all. Just I´m new in this impressive Mikrotik world. Just we have installes a Mikrotik version 5.20 over a PC platform and just we purchased a Routerboard RB750 series.
I export the file configuration from the 5.20 without problem (or backup it) but when I try to import or Restore to the new Router RB750 the router dosn´t connect with my network.
Can anybody help me and try to explain why this happen and what I need to do to replace the Router with the routerboard?
The 750G uses a hardware switch chip, so you may need to make sure that the master/slave state of the interfaces makes sense in your configuration. Coming from an x86 platform, I’d think that you’d want all ports to be set master=none.
One of the things that might be giving you problems for configuration import is the fact that simple queues were changed quite a lot between version 5.x and version 6.x of RouterOS. Does the configuration seem to import okay, but then the router just won’t work properly after that? Maybe you need to go through the configuration on the 750 after import and verify that everything’s correct, and as stated above, make sure the switch isn’t causing issues.
