Incoming PPTP - interfaces suddenly do not get renamed...

Started this morning and takes down a backlink for my company.

I use 3 PPTP connections from an office to the main cluster.

PPTP, named users. Now on the incoming connection,

SO FAR:

  • incoming connections came in and were nameed “<pptp-fabric-00-01.1>” etc., THEN got immediately renamed to tue secret’s name (fabric-00-01.1)

NOW:

  • incoming connections do not get renamed. They stay at stuff like “<pptp-fabric-00-01.1>”.

As a result, all my routing, packet distribution and quuqing just does not work - the office is disconnected.

Anyone an idea how to fix it?

Once people arrive in the office I will have them take down their side (a 450G) for some minutes, disable the interfaces in the central side and reboot the 1100 that is there, then reenable things. But if that does not clear things up, I am in trouble.

Anyone any clue? I took that up with support so far but they keep telling me that is expected, interfaces do not get renamed (to the names of the secrets) all while totally ignoring that my screenshots show ONE of FOUR actually being renamed. Seems like “first level support blindness”. Meanwhile one of two important links is down and an office full of people not working. Maybe time to get some other manufacturer?

Also accepting offers from consultants that can log in and fix it - on a success=payment basis.

Got it sorted out by chance. The intefaces for the pptp users got somehow deleted.
