incompatible with Engenius ECW120 ?

I just unboxed my first Mikrotik device – a CRS112-8P-4S-IN (the P is for PoE)
Connected Eth1 to my LAN, upgraded everything to v6.46 using Winbox, and rebooted.
Then I connected an Engenius ECW120 to one of the Ethernet ports. The WAP remained dead – no sign of power. The power indicator on the port flashes green.
I thought maybe it was having trouble negotiating a PoE voltage, so I went to the PoE tab under Interfaces and set Eth7 to “forced on” and “low” with priority 10. No power cycle interval.
PoE status for that port is now “powered on”, 1 or 2mA, 27.6V. The port indicator is solid green which I guess means forced on.

The Engenius ECW120 is a plain 802.3af device that wants up to 1A of 12vdc. It works nicely when I connect it to a NetGear PoE switch or an Engenius PoE switch.

I have not been able to find where to change the Eth7 port to “passive” mode.

What else can I try?

SOLVED.
The external power jack to the Engenius WAP accepts 12vdc.
But, to use PoE, the voltage must be 48v because it is 802.3af compliant.
It can not run on 28v through either method.
