I am using a hAP ac lite, which for the most part works ok, I am finding that the wifi signal
I am receiving is not always great or as expected, is there any settings I can change that may help
increase the signal?

Put the AP on a very long ethernet cord.
Attach it to your hat and walk around the apartment with it.
or get a second AP and put it at the other end of your location.
Seriously, you asked the million dollar question… How to optimize wifi using MT devices.
Without proper documentation and actual toolsets/options in the software it is not easy.
Best bet is to ensure you choose non interfering channels, and match the settings to your devices you are actually using.
Keep in mind that wifi in a noisy environment at 5ghz, is not going to do well through walls.
