Info about Mikrotik CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+RM

Hello,

reading about the CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+RM model on the forum i found the information that it is a “dual boot” switch. Can someone confirm if it is also a RouterOS and not just a SwitchOS? If yes, it is compatible with GRE/IPSEC protocols?

I am also not sure about if the CRS354-48P is POE. Basically, If i connect a Voip phone will be powered?

Any help is highly appreciated
Thank you

Q1. "Can someone confirm if it is also a RouterOS and not just a SwitchOS?"
Correct, Operating System: SwOS / RouterOS (Dual boot)

Q2. "If yes, it is compatible with GRE/IPSEC protocols?"
Yes,

Q3. "I am also not sure about if the CRS354-48P is POE. Basically, If i connect a Voip phone will be powered?"
Yes, it comes with PoE out. Details:
PoE-out ports Ether1-Ether48
PoE out 802.3af/at
Max out per port output (input 18-30 V) 1000 mA
Max out per port output (input 30-57 V) 570 mA
Total output current 27A at 26V OR 13.2A at 53V
Total output power 700W

While it supports IPsec and GRE when running RouterOS, these protocols are implemented in software, so the throughput is determined by the CPU power and is far below the switching throughput of the switch.

You can see the routing performance of this device…

The device has advanced switching capabilities.. i would not use it for routing purposes…
I would suggest you a router for that https://mikrotik.com/products/group/ethernet-routers
For example, since you mentioned IPsec, RB3011 supports IPsec hardware acceleration …
