I have just approached the microtik world buying a hap ac lite to do some configuration tests but I have some questions to ask:

  • Is it possible to isolate the networks between them? If so how?
  • Are the product configuration options identical in all models?
  • What is the difference between hap and rb models?
  • Do the lite models have any software limitations?

    yes, many ways, it’s fun to search the forum before you ask someone to do it for you.

  • Are the product configuration options identical in all models?
    almost. unless you trying to use wireless or SFP or LTE interfece when the hardware dose not have it.
    most entry level product some with licence level 4. should not have any impact on most things you need to , or try to test with, So far I have not been limited in anyway.

My problem was only to know the differences between the various products, apart from the obvious ones, I’m just testing microtik products, I have been using products of different brands for years, I wanted to be sure of all their potential by testing with basic products.
