Simple setup with RB750UP and all ether1-ether5 ports in a bridge. Customers connected to ether1-ether4, ether5 goes to a shared CPE radio.
I’d like to limit traffic into ether1 (upload from customer) but a simple queue wth target=ether1 doesn’t work (shows no traffic in statistics).
I want to limit all ether1 ingress traffic, without looking at packet headers at all, no rules for IP addresses etc. In fact, the traffic is PPPoE and is properly limited on the PPPoE server with RADIUS configured dynamic interface queues. This additional limit is just to protect the radio from DoS by one customer gone mad (sending lots of UDP traffic which kills the wireless network and doesn’t slow down like TCP when shaped later). Any ideas? Better yet if the limit could be expressed in packets (not bytes) per second as that’s what really kills the radio.
