initial routing - need help.

well… i downloaded test version.

trying to set up simplest of the things - like wireless client.

so

ether1 192.168.0.38/24- added manually
wlan1 192.168.0.168/24 - obtained from DHCP

cant ping anyting but ether1 from local network

is it possible at all, that both interfaces are in one net and no nat used???

could it just be transparent for now?

You could not have addresses from one network assigned to different interfaces.

Eugene

окау.

then theres something i must ask:

is it possible to set up

(AP 192.168.1.1)===>(Wlan1(sta)—>ether1 192.168.1.2) =====>network 192.168.1.x

i dont really care wich IP will be at router’s interfaces.

it is matters that network behind must be in the same ip range that AccessPoint.
And they must ubtain IPs from main server behind AP.

configure MT as a bridge, not a router

can you please post simplyfied scema how to create bridge of that kind?
coz i’ve allready tried and still have no success - i think am doing something wrong… something simple, but cant catch it.

the thing that i really cant understand is wich of interfaces must have an IP address - ether1 ether2 or bridge only?

if i have

ether1
ether2

bridged in Bridge1

anybody?

was it the reason??

“MAC level bridging of Ethernet, Ethernet over IP (EoIP), Prism, Atheros and RadioLAN interfaces are supported. All 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g client wireless interfaces (ad-hoc, infrastructure or station mode) do not support this because of the limitations of 802.11.”

how should i act then??
