Install Mikrotik on a X86 server

Hi, have Mikrotik any restriction of lan chipset to install it on a X86 server?

Can I install it on any server?

Thanks!!

You can but it is recommended to use CHR and visualise. Driver support is better for CHR, CHR supports 64bit and licensing is better (and you can move licenses with CHR).

Visualise should be “virtualize”.

Installing to bare metal has many problems and it seems that Mikrotik is focusing on virtual versions instead on native ones.

Hi, then the better way is?

How I can virtualize… I has a dedicated with centos 7

Has any tutorial to do it?

Thanks!!

Lol Damn autocorrect! Yes I meant virtualise.

If you are asking about bare metal install then can I assume you have a spare machine in which case maybe something like ESXi which is free and quite easy to get to grips with. There is an OVA you can import straight in to get running.
