I have a DELL R410 with this dell SAS 6 / iR controller. I tried tata HD sata like SAS and are not recognized for installation. Is there any option? The server has the direct SATA interface on the motherboard the power cable is different standard DELL P3.
This has been discussed many times before. If you must use the RAID controller, you will need to use CHR on ESXi 6.x.
If you don’t need it the hdd capacity, and just want to run ROS directly on it, a possibility is taking out the DVD unit and use a SATA DOM module plugged to it as internal storage.
