Intel 82573V/L Gigabit Ethernet Controller

Anyone able to get MT 2.9.23 to work with the Intel 82573V/L Gigabit Ethernet Controller chipset nic’s? We have a couple of systems with dual nic eth ports that use these chipsets built onto the mobo and we can’t seem to get MT to work with them. It seems like it is installing ok then it reboots and comes up to the login prompt and freezes solid?! Anyone else had any luck with these nic chipsets working??

I was holding off buying 2 of those supermicros with those chips until I knew they worked : ) MT did upgrade to a newer intel driver that should support them, maybe it is something haywire with the parameters for that card… Keep us posted.

These are actually MSI 1U units.. they are very similar to several Supermicro units. They have worked great with Win2k Adv Srv and CentOS on them.

It seems we can install MT 2.9.18-20 and everything works fine on them, except of course those versions have no support for the network chips which is making me wonder if its something to do with the nics when we try to install 2.9.23 and it locks up??

We had problems with one of these units when we tried installing a slightly older version of linux on it and compiling the e1000 drivers ourselves on that older linux version. They were locking up the whole system.. very much like it seems the MT 2.9.23 is doing.. which is why we were wondering if anyone else was having any luck with MT 2.9.23 and those nic chips.
