Intel 82574L onboard NIC & vlan = low BW test performance, high TX packet drop problem

Hi all,

I am having strange problem with BW test low performance and high TX drops on vlan interface when BW test is running? This is an x86 board with 2x82574L NICs and apart the BW test it is working fine, just a few TX drops on vlan interface and some RX drops on physical interface, nothing major, packets going through the router are fine but I cannot run the BW test from this device when packets should leave the router via vlan on this NIC. When BW test data leaving through wireless interface, all is fine. Unfortunately I could not test if the same is happening when not using vlan - maybe I should try…

This is ROS 6.22

Other similar board with onboard Intel 82540EM does not have this problem.

Any advise how to fix this?

go to 5.26.

i have one x86 where intel dual pci network adapter, and seems to be the same like yours. issue was loss and low BW after upgrade to ros 6.x. downgraded and everything runs like it should…

Thanks for your reply

unfortunately I cant as I need support also for R11e-HPacD so wireless-fp package which is not available on v5.xx :frowning:

Its not a major problem for me as I have no issue apart the BW test… this router can pass 200Mbps over 40MHz ac link but it used to be my primary BW test point with powerful CPU to saturate all the neighboring links. Well I guess its time to setup another machine for this purpose..

I am going to submit a support ticket to MT anyway.

Thanks!
