Can anybody advice me if they have tried a Intel “PWLA8494GT” and / or a Intel “EXPI9404PF”, I am looking at using them in a AMD PC Bases Router.

Which Intel Cards will it support?
There is not a definite list. We just use the latest kernel that has newer drivers from intel. Most likely it will support all newest cards, and if not immediately, we will be able to add support more easily.
New kernel in 4.7? That is good to know.
Perhaps you could mention kernel upgrades in the ROS changelog since that is an important change.
The kernel version number would be useful as well.

we haven’t done any unmentioned kernel updates before 
previous kernel change was in RouterOS v3 and it was announced.
I just found out today that that RouterOS 4.5 lacks support for the current Intel network interfaces on the market in our Intel motherboard and Intel PCI-e Network cards
P55 Chipset ONBOARD 82578DC Intel (Not Recognized by RouterOS 4.5)
Intel PCI Express x1 PRO 1000 Network Cards EXPI9301CT (Chipset : 82574L) (Not Recognized by RouterOS 4.5)
Unfortunately motherboards these days only come with 1 PCI slot which doesn’t have the bandwidth or ability to run multiple gigabit ports, so we are all stuck running older hardware with older pci cards that have supported intel drivers until the Intel drivers are updated in RouterOS.
Intel offers their latest PRO 1000 drivers (version 8.0.18) but they would need to be compiled by Mikrotik.

I am in Cape Town, South Africa, the Intel cards are the only 4 port 100/1000 cards that are available locally since Mikrotik discontinued RB44. I am looking at building a Mikrotik router with 4 Fiber ports and 12 RJ45 ports.

There are fiber and multi-GigE Copper RouterOS options as well. www.mikrotikrouter.com.
