Intel Cards PRO 1000MT on PCI-X Problem

Just want to give heads up to users

→ Let me explain to you the problem I see . I dont

know if its routing-test or routing but
I have ip 1.1.1.1 and 2.2.2.2 each talking to 2 peers
Suddenly i cant ping 1.1.1.1 and 2.2.2.2

both 1.1.1.1 and 2.2.2.2 are on Gige Intel Pro 1000/mt on PCI-X

I have internal ips x.x.x.x on other interfaces
and i can reach those interfaces from inside. I
even sent pings through to 1.1.1.1 from sinde the
x.x.x.x network and it responds back but 1.1.1.1
cannot reach the peer 1.1.1.2 and same is the
case with 2.2.2.2 (unable to ping peer) . Infact
I have one machine on 1.1.1.3 and that cant reach 1.1.1.1 either

I moved the machine over to an identical one with
another copy of MT but it showed the same
symptoms. I did not swap any parts between machines.

I am lost as to where i should look

MT says this will be fixed in 2.10 – lets hope.

I think 2.10 will require at least lv 5 for dynamic routing??

MT says the problem is with PCI-X drivers of Intel for the Pro 1000/MT Dual port server adapter. They say the driver will get fixed in 2.10

Have you tried version v2.9.20 ?
They replaced the Intel gbit driver around release of v2.9.21+ and it made my Intel gbit cards go nuts.
Occasionally, just occasionally, i feel as if i’m upgrading to the stoneage.

im using 2.9.26 and the was using 2.9.24, 25 earlier , all my supouts were from those versions

Ok, you wait for v2.10 and i have it work today in v2.9.20 ?
