Hi people,
I’m researching on which product to buy from Mikrotik, and I’m primary interested in these three models: RB750GL, RB2011iLS-IN and CRS125-24G-1S-IN.
From those models listed above, can they all perform inter vlan routing? And if yes, which one by software and which one by hardware?
Is the configuration of inter vlan routing done via the GUI or the CLI ?
I’ve noticed that the CRS125-24G-1S-IN is a fanless design, what about the other two?
Thank you.

All of them can do Inter-Vlan Routing, but none of them have hardware fast path.
GUI, CLI and WEB. The Inter-Vlan Routing begin as soon as you put an IP address on an interface.
All are fanless.

The CRS does have a lot of functionality it can do in the switch chip… but true routing happens in the main CPU. The CRS is also buggy currently…

What bugs do you mean for the CRS?
Also what should be noted that the CRS is mainly a switch, with routing capability. if you intend to use it as a router only, it is not very powerful. For just routing purposes we have other devices.

Uh… all of the ones that make the switch chip not functional. VLAN Tables, etc… Your supposed to be fixing them in 6.12 or 6.13. Already discussed this with support several times.

But for simple router is ok?

The bug where the vlans bleed between ports is the biggest barrier for me using this as a switch regardless of any routing capability.

Thanks! but are these linked from somewhere too? how will I know when rc2 is available for example?
I’d like to use the CRS125-24G-2S+IN to replace my RB750G and Cisco 2960S-24PS-L. Think it would have enough CPU power to handle that task? It’s just at my house on a 30Mbx4Mb cable modem. I’ve got 23 devices on the switch but all we do is stream Netflix/Amazon Prime. Based on what I can see the CRS should handle all the same simple queue stuff I have on my 750G (qos for video/phone), would that be an accurate assessment?
The switch menu and options on the CRS look a lot better and are more intuitive in 6.12rc1.
Congratulations Mikrotik on that.
