Hi guys, i have been doing some testing using a laptop and a CPE unit. Both untis are VERY close to the AP that has an Omni 15 dbi antenna hooked to an Sr2 and the lpatop has a e-link airplus. Regular PCMCIA slot card. Now the CPE unit has a 15 dbi enclosure with Smartbridge airbridges SB2100, For SOME reason the laptop has a better signal than the CPE, and actually the CPE HAS CRAP but signal, and its being pointed right toards it. Look at the attached picture to see what i mean… IM not sure if this will change once we get into the couple mile range but if im already this bad at 8 feet away is it even going to make a mile im a little concerened? Im going to try another airbridge radio with 15 dbi enclosure and see if i get the same results. Let me know what you guys think -Jordan
ALmost forgot, If you look at the signal to noise the the airbridge CPE, and the laptop the signal to noise on the Airbridge is MUCH betters compared to the laptop 7 compared to like 50 with the laptop… Atleast i beleive low is better??? scratches head
Nevermind, i figured out it was a faulty radio, brought down another one and i was getting a 31dbm signal, really good. soooo going to have to get another radio for that one. Sorry for the post… -Jordan
SR2+15dbi antenna equals 5 db above legal limit in US
it is set to 10dbm output power.. and im inside im not killing anyone, once deployed i will pay more atttention to stay witing legal limits..
