Can someone verify this issue for me (on their RouterOS):
In Winbox>Interfaces>Interface List>[any interface]>Traffic tab, does the graph seem to “drop off” about every 3 - 3.5 minutes and not show traffic for a few counts? Could this be a Winbox software issue? RouterOS issue?
I’m running a Routerboard 532A with RouterOS 2.9.39 (upgraded today).
I need to verify that its a graphing/Winbox issue or if it is indeed hardware/OS. May have to RMA this unit. Thanks.
If the router is too busy, or the network traffic is dropped between windox and router, you will see drops in that graph. Its a low priority update to winbox and therefore isn’t guaranteed to display 100% of the time. In the older graphs they were horizontal lines which hid this affect - the newer 2.9 series each data point is a vertical line and if one is missed you notice. No problems though - its somewhat normal.
Thanks Sam. That is what I was hoping for as well, I had seen the same effect when I was changing views/windows or doing something else in Windows but I was not sure.
I have also posted in RouterBoard’s forum if anyone has had issues with the NICs and if it is a hardware issue. I am having CRC issues using my 532A as a traffic control device between a WAN and LAN.
