Intermittent Winbox disconnection (remote host closed connection) on CCR2004 with public IP

Hello MikroTik team,

I am experiencing intermittent Winbox disconnections (“remote host closed the connection”) when accessing a CCR2004-1G-12S+2XS running RouterOS 7.21.3 with a public IP.

The session establishes successfully but drops after a few seconds. The device is not under high load, there are no firewall rules configured, and the physical link is stable.

Could you please advise on the possible cause and recommended solution?

This is not a sane decision. Check your router's log. Your exposed WinBox port might be hammered by connection attempts from the internet.

Yes, get a TPLINK or consumer router that is safe to use.
