Internet drops to 0 kbps for 1-2 seconds

I have got a new internet connection at my home and it uses a Mikrotik router to connect me to internet.
Every 5 min or so its speed drops to 0 for 1-3 seconds so is there any way that I can improve its performance so that these drops could somehow be avoided
The router name is SXTsq Lite5 I can access its configuration for any information that is required

I think you need to explane how you monitoring this, if it is watching the interfaces in Winbox, then it might possibly just be refresh rates, etc in Winbox

Are you on wifi? Plug in with a cable to rule out a wifi problem.

Some troubleshooting steps:

In winbox, go to Tools > Ping and ping a remote host repeatedly every 250ms. Your issue is likely a complete drop in internet?
Tools > Profile will allow you to monitor the CPU usage of the Mikrotik. The CPU may very briefly go high, but if CPU usage remains high for a couple of seconds then it’s worth narrowing in on that.

Anything interesting in the log?

For ether1 (or whatever your internet port is) go look at the negotiated wire speed and confirm it’s correct. Although a mismatched speed, or incorrect duplex tends to fill the log with packet collision entries.

Tools > Torch allows you to watch what devices on your LAN is accessing the internet. Although it may not help in your case, but sometimes it shows something interesting.

Finally, plug a laptop directly into the internet and run ping again. Is the fault with the Mikrotik or your modem/ISP ?

Well its more of personal experience I have in Zoom, whatsapp, team calls, games (things which require a constant stream of data) and I access the microtik interface using chrome haven’t installed winbox yet

Thanks for the help
But it looks like it’s more to do with our provider there was another guy who I was able to get a hold of today who told me that he faces the same problem of dropouts can’t be my device’s fault then.
Tried the ping method both on wifi and connected through wire like every 100 packets or so 1or 2 packets have very high time like average would be 35-40 then it will spike to 300-400 .CPU was looking fine and I did not understand what I had to look in ether1

For torch only I knew the password of the wifi and for 1 hour I monitored there were no extra devices even when there were drops
