Hi Guys
I Have a problem to get the internet from my router to my pc.My router is programmed as follow :
I have bridge my wlan1 and eth1 and set-up a dhcp-client to get an ip address om my bridge and on my pc Ethernet port.The ip address range on the bridge work with 172.31.0.0/16.My bridge interface get an ip of 172.31.65.209/26 and pc get and ip 172.31.65.233/26.The gateway of the bridge is 172.31.65.254.I then went and add a PPPoE Client on the bridge that give internet to my router and add in the firewall NAT to masquerade all source ips.Then added some static router as follow 172.31.0.0/16 gateway 172.31.65.254 ; 0.0.0.0/0 gateway PPPoE Client.
The router working 100% with the internet but I can’t get it right to get internet from the router to my PC.Can you guys help me please.
Okay,this a basic diagram of the highsites and how it is connected to each other.The problem is as I already written,that inside my router the internet work on both sites,the client and home,but can’t get it right to get the internet from my router to my pc’s.
I did a trace route to see where it gets the wrong route to browse http://www.google.co.za and it looks like it bypass my own router where the routes are inserted and then tries to get die internet from the highsites where no internet is.
Home Router
• WLAN1 AND ETH1 ARE BRIDGE WITH A DHCP CLIENT RUNNING ON THE BRIDGE INTERFACE – DHCP CLIENT IP :172.31.114.70/27 GATEWAY :172.31.114.94 (JANTRIKA HIGHSITE).
• ADDED A PPPoE CLIENT RUNNING INTERFACE :BRIDGE1.
• ADDED PPtP SERVER AND IP ADDRESS LOCAL :192.168.1.1 IP ADDRESS REMOTE :192.168.1.254
• MY LAPTOP GETS IP FROM BRIDGE1 AS FOLLOW :172.31.114.72 GATEWAY :172.31.114.94 DNS :172.31.1.100
• UNIVERSITY IP ADDRESSES ARE :172.31.0.0/16 AND 143.168.0.0/16
• FIREWALL NAT ALLOW ALL SRC ACTION MASQURADE
MY ROUTES ARE SET AS FOLLOW :
• 0.0.0.0/0 GATEWAY :41.242.0.1
• 172.31.0.0/16 GATEWAY :172.31.114.94
• 143.160.0.0/16 GATEWAY :172.31.114.94
In my home router I can ping http://www.google.co.za and the university DNS with no problems. From my laptop I can ping the university DNS and Server but not http://www.google.co.za. So what I did, I ran a tracert or trace route and saw that it tries to go through 172.31.114.94 (Jantrika Highsite) and it bypass by router where all the routes are added to follow for internet browsing.
CLIENT ROUTER

• UNIVERSITY IP ADDRESSES ARE :172.31.0.0/16 AND 143.168.0.0/16
