We have been asked to provide a couple if Internet Kiosks to complement the installation of WiFI at a very large venue. Stupidly, I agreed to provide them free of charge as we stand to make decent money on the WiFI Sales - then I started to look for a supplier and nearly fell of my chair as im being quoted in the region of £3500 per unit, without a PC.
Does anyone have any recommendations on kiosk suppliers - free standing, wall mount etc. Im simply looking for a Screen/Keyboard and Trackball/pad built into a secure case that could be used in high footfall areas such as malls etc.
On a sidenote, the mods may remove/close this topic since it has nothing to do with RouterOS.
My advice is to go back and renegotiate. Kiosk units are expensive to buy, but even more expensive to support. Every kid is going to try to break it, both physically, and in software. I don’t know how much you pay your staff per hour, but you’re going to exceed the $3500 purchase price point you found pretty quickly for all the times someone goes out there to look at the damn thing because it ‘isn’t working’, which is going to be the most detailed trouble report you’re going to get out of the people on site.
