Internet speed test

Hi everyone

I would like to be able to test my internet speed(ADSL connection) from my RB. Is there a way to do this without using a 2nd RB or PC? So is there like a Google server or something you can run a test to?

Also which is better TCP or UDP?

Most DSL providers have their own speedtest page

Thanks, but how do I run a test to speedtest.net? When I try put www.speedtest.net in the “test to” box in winbox, it says cant connect. I have also tried the sites ip.

Hmmmmm…I’m also looking for this feature, the reason behind it is …I want to build a intelligent loadbalancer that can fine tune the scale of 50/50 on 2 lines to other % by testing the line speed of each line and then applying the % so that 100% of the total capacity can be distributed to all users. can be useful is so many ways, another reason is, if you have a up to 7meg line and a up to 2meg line, then it can super fine tune itself.

you can use the tool Fetch

tool fetch
and after that u need to write the URL of the file u wanna download, find a link from your isp and try to download it using the router.
