Hi
I’m writing about a problem that I found on routerOS 6.x running on x86 virtual machine.
This machine run pptp-server as vpn-concentrator.
We got two different kind of issues, but I will explain the other one in a different post.
The problem is that the address of some PPTP Server Binding interface become invalid after some time.
This is a random problem that comes every 1-2 days to different connected client.
Deleting the address of the interface did not solve the issue 'cause everytime that the interface go up again the address remain invalid. The solution is a reboot.
This is not happening if I downgrade to RouterOS 5.x but I can’t use this version: it crash offen on x86 VM, I can’t have more than 1-2 days of uptime without crashes.
Otherwise, routeros 6.x is really stable and performant with less cpu usage.
I think it is a bug of 6.x version. I didn’t try if it happens by running the pptp-server on mikrotik hardware cos I don’t have so performing routerboards to use it as a vpn-concentrator.
Do you have some suggestion about?
thank you
