When configuring notifications in The Dude, I enter the IP address of the SMTP server here, and then I enter my email address and I get the following error:
invalid TO address
I’m pretty sure that it’s a valid address because I get spam there all the time. grin
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Pic related - its the error message.
Check in settings, polling, edit the notification and see if your email address is in there?
are you sending it to an exchange server or what smtp server are you using?
I needed to set the dude server as permitted to relay thrue that exchange server on the smtp server access settings.
Yes, my email address is in there. I have tried a couple of email addresses (work and personal) and it gives me the same error.
Initially I tried using Exchange, but is there a way to use the Gmail SMTP settings? I would actually prefer to use something external for monitoring in case the Exchange Server goes offline…can’t really get notifications if it crashes. grin I tried using the SMTP settings from Google’s help page, but it didn’t seem to work. I’m onsite again today, so I’ll test it again and see if I have better luck.
