Hello, i update 2 iphones to IOS8 and don´t have more the login page,
i have the same problem in IOS7 , and resolved:

try to disable the wifi auto-login feature on ios8
anyway.. I’m starting to really hate those stupid Apple “features”, they don’t help users ..and make us crazy!
why do you put those things in walled garden? this will make hotspot not work.
apple checks those sites, and if it detects hotspot, login page is opened. if you put them in walled garden, iphone thinks that you have internet, and doesn’t open login.
another suggestion is if you use DNS name in the Hotspot configuration then if you use just name for example, company, then you need to ad domain, for example, company.com

i have many apple device in my newtork, i have macbook only acess the login page, if i put the Walled Garden list.
i try all, in IOS 7, and only solved the problem with Walled Garden list.
today later i try disable all Walled Garden to test IOS8

I am Eduardi’s friend, using the same network and also having the same problem. i only updated my ipad yesterday with the ios 8.1 (i was using ios 7.1.2 without any kind of problem with our network) and for my surprise this was the result…Blank page instead of the login one. Let’s see if we can figure out how to solve this problem…

I’ve solved similar problem editing “xxxx.yyyy.local” to a FQDN; I’m still asking myself ‘why’ ..but it works now! 
bajodel is right, something is wrong with ‘.local’ domain and Apple devices.
