We’re just launching a small service provider in West Africa and would like to find out if RouterOS could provide an IP MPLS network transparent to my clients. The clients deploy CISCO IPSEC tunnels across the network but will connect directly to our Mikrotik Routers and we would like our network to be totally transparent to the clients. i.e. for it to appear to the client that the client networks are on the same LAN…
Is this possible? Any help would be much appreciated…
and YES we are NOVICES

Hi Bola,
Yes you can achieve this with Mikrotik RouterOS.
You can deliver two types of service:
- IP WAN - Using MPLS also known as L3VPN
- LAN Extension - Using VPLS also known as L2VPN
It is best you read up on these on the Mikrotik Wiki http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/MPLS
You will need a strong understanding of Routing (OSPF/BGP), of the effects of MTU and of the OSI Model to get this working properly.
nz_monkey,
Thanks for the links… will take a long look at them and if possible get back to you, BUT, any assistance along the way would be a great help as this is really our first outing with RouterOS…
cheers,
