IP Packing (M3P) can operate in transparent bridge mode?

I want to use compression in my long range wireless link (Microwave) due to limited bandwidth Max about 650kb, we dont want to change existing network structure, so transparent bridge will be perfect.

What I plan is install ROS at both end with M3P enable( both in transparent bridge mode), does it work?
will it improve VOIP quality?

I’m not sure that packing is going to improve VoIP, as VoIP is very sensitive to the delays.

Not necessarily. Echo cancelation, codecs and dejitter buffers do overcome certain delays.

If your (I assume low) VOIP quality is due to lack of bandwidth than M3P would help (some codecs better than others) though I don’t know if it can work over transparent bridge.

EDITED to be more specific…

At my site When the traffic reach about 600k ping time is horrible..800+ms. Limit total bandwidth to 550k and ping time maintain below 50ms. Currently only 1 ROS was installed with upload IP QOS for IP Phone. VOIP quality is much improved but due to limit other traffic & set guaranteed bandwidth for voip, they complain about slow email & web surfing. That’s why planning use M3P to improve the total bandwidth.

Going to install 1 more ROS at the other side and test it if M3P work in Bridge mode.

.
can someone give a confirm answer that M3P can work in bridge mode or not.???

You can configure packing on bridge mode in /ip packing.

OK. Thanks for your info. Will post a result after testing done.
