/ IP Pool -> bug? or my suggestion

I just spent a couple hours re-discovering something strange wit ip pools.

My natural tendency to specify a class C subnet is to enter 192.168.x.x/24.

The system accepts this but does not work for hotspot pools! (my html directory gets ignored and the hotspot directory is used)

However, specify a pool as 192.168.x.5-192.168.5.50, and everything works fine. Suggestion for new routerOS version: don’t accept my first specification for and IP pool in winbox!

Thanks,
marshall

How exactly do you specify your class C?
192.168.x.0/24 or 192.168.x.[something-other-than-zero]/24?

You have to use the network address when using this notation, so only 192.168.x.0/24 is valid, not for example 192.168.x.5/24.

I entered the following: 10.10.2.0/24 and had problems with the hotspot untill i changed it to 10.10.2.2-10.10.2.254.

what version do you use?

I upgraded my RB153 to routerOS 2.9.39
