It´s a pity that contesting a request by simply referring to this forum to find out sourself is a spill of energy if that answer was to be found that easy as suggested by the contestant. You could spill that energy in giving the answer and save on energy of the reader.

But to be honest I would like to see the simple answer to it too since if I take the both explanations in the manual side by side I still don´t see a clear difference in ¨ip¨ or ¨proxy¨ and ¨web proxy¨ Both talk about Http, https and ftp caching and it´s not clear to me what the difference between both version is.

So if the answer is that obvious as suggested can you open our eyes?

I have asked the question before too, i found that web-proxy gets error after a few days of caching, and from what this forum suggested, proxy package is better and faster.

Now i am using proxy package and it seems fine, no error so far. But i found a strange problem. my CPU load becomes 100 sometimes, and go back down to 1-2% again and goes up again sometime. Anyone ever had this problem?

Two opportunities exist,

  1. Web-proxy package is used,
    then
‘ip web-proxy’ is proxy that supports caching
‘ip proxy’ is proxy written by MikroTik, but it does not support caching option.
  2. ‘web-proxy test’ package is used,
only ‘ip proxy’ option is provided, that is proxy written by MikroTik that supports caching.

Yeah but does the IP proxy work as a transparent proxy? I think not.
