iPhone cannot connect to L2TP VPN server

Hi everyone,

I have a Mikrotik 3011 and set up the L2TP server on 3011 recently. My laptop (windows 10) can successfully connect to the L2TP server but my iPhone cannot. On the iPhone, there is only 3 types of VPN you can choose, IKEv2, IPsec, L2TP, so I pick the L2TP. But it always shows " The L2TP-VPN server did not respond…" .

Anyone has experienced the issue ?

Another question is regarding the server address, I found the one in “IP cloud” DNS name is different from the VPN address in Quick Set. If I use the Quick Set VPN address, I cannot connect even with the laptop. I can connect when I use the address in IP cloud. Anyone know what is the difference between these two address ?

Try l2tp/ipsec in the router (even, is more secure) and you will be able to do in the iphone/ipad.

I have l2tp/ipsec and my ipad runs perfectly

I think I used the L2TP/IPsec in the router. What puzzled me is that I can connect laptop to the L2TP server, only iPhone cannot connect to the server.
I don’t know what mistake I made in the setup of the server in the router, or I just made some mistakes in the setup on the iPhone.
