Recently i bought a new tablet for me - Xiaomi Redmi pad2 with android 15.
At my house i have working a mikrotik HAP lite with 6.49.19 OS (latest - stable)
I have set on the past to mine network the mikrotik a IPSEC-ikev2 PSK VPN, so that i could access to my home network from outside with my cell samsung a13 (android 14) and it works fine. But i tried to connect now to the same VPN to my new tablet and it does not connect. All parameters are the same, secret / pre shared key is the same, but it fails.
I have taken a log printscreen (below) during that connetion not been stablished when i try with my tablet, and succeding to stablest with may Samsung cell (connecting is stablished and after a while i disconnect.
Any sugestions of what is happening and what can i do to solved this?
To solve: enable debug logging for IPSEC in MikroTik and look what’s happening due to connection from affected device.
Debugging IPSEC is boring and need professional expertise and a lot of tests, so please don’t be offended, I won’t debug for you. But I showed you the direction of what needs to be done.
well i am no expert… so it hard for me to understand certain results. I ve placed on logging , “topics ipsec and prefix ipsec”. The result i had trying to enter from android 15 equipment (Redmi pad 2) was the following:
i ve connected with android 14 equipment (samsung a13) , all in above picture is the same (although different value of identifier, and it works perfect.
what am i missing?! i ve already check configurations both on mikrotik and the 2 android equipment and all is equal!
Somhow android 15 does not like the identities “My ID type” field as “auto” but changing my ID type to “fdqn” and My ID to “server DNS name”. Also on the equipment it requres identiifier as”server DNS name”, equal to server name, and it connects. Android 14 on the opposite, does not accept that and it should maintain My ID type to “auto” because does not connect otherwise. Hope it helps… Thanks ans Regards
