We recently migrated one of our Core routers from V6 to V7 and noticed a significant change in our IPT vs. IXP traffic ratio. Previously, we averaged 12.3% IPT vs. 87.7% IXP, but now we are seeing 26% IPT vs. 74% IXP on average.
I have double-checked my filtering and confirmed that I am advertising my /22 to my IPT provider and my /24 into the IXP. I am also prepending my AS to IPT, and they are receiving and re-advertising it correctly.
Would there be anything in V7 that could be causing this? I have meticulously reviewed every configuration line on my V6 instance and matched it against my V7 setup, but I couldn’t find any differences. However, there might be a BGP or routing setting in V7 that I haven’t enabled or an issue that is commonly overlooked.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
