hi,
im thinking, is the possible to create network ex:
couple base station 5ghz *mikrotik boards (board rb800+4x minipci wifi card+4x sector ubnt antenna) =4x150… total of 600MB/s-(35 clients with 15mb/s of total *1 hd channel 10MB/s + internet5mb/s) but if i leave 75mb/s free nonuset to not overload.
in one place if i put 3x base station with 4 sector annena= total of 3 boards and 12 sector annetnas.
is that possible to work, the problem can be with bandwidth.
client equipment SXT N + android iptv receiver
internet 5mb/s down 1mb/s up + 50TV channels, 5 of than HD (normally one client can watch 1 channel at the same time)
streaming in hd can make maximum 10mb/s download.
please if someone can understand these, and can explain can that work.
thx,
i like to you tell me more technical details,
what is for u good wireless link, what a hardware i need, what antennas, etc,
the terrain i think is good, i created one paint .. is so amateur but i can explained with that,
in all houses(clients) = 100% viewpoint.
base station will be in middle of small mountain .
base station height 500mt
village height 300mt
closer client starting in 1.5 km
distance of most of clients with 100% viewpoint 3-5.5km
all im scare that, , the tv it will be used 99.9% in time from 19:00 to 24:00 and bandwidth will be loaded 90-95% all that time.
Hello,
i am afraid, but to give higher availability than 95% over wireless link is not possible. My thought is based on experience using of several wireless base stations. Sadly, but i am providing internet service, which is lower quality requirement than IPTV, i can’t reach higher availability than 95%. And this is true story
Of cource, you should try to make your desired model and to get some results, which will be very usefull for the other forum users…
Sincerely Hans
link can reach high data rates - that is signal levels are at -50dB
it rarely drops to lower data rated due to interference
you can disable lower basic data rates, and link will not suffer from that (link can still establish without problems.
when pushing data over the link CCQ stays close to 100%
If you ask about hardware - i cannot help you with that as it depends from site to site, and what works in one area may not work that well in another.
Note that when you push multicast packets over the wireless link from AP to clients and you are not using NV2, multicast packets will be sent only once, for example usual wireless frames will be retransmitted over the link set number of times (configurable in RouterOS) to ensure that they do reach the end, and that is not the case for multicast packets.
I talk here about basic rates, as lowest basic rate of the link will be used to transmit multicast packets, to ensure highest possible signal strength, and that will impact your wireless link, also if data stream is large enough (as you mention 1080p) then lowest data rate of 6MBps air-rate might not be enough to ensure that whole stream is delivered.
thank you for the replay,
definitely i will start building a WISP, but for IPTV not sure..,
from my side, terrain is great(in every house i have 100% viewepoint , sector to client), in my view point. with good hardware i except signal to be from -45db to -52db (if the client equipment is something around 23- …25dbi)
maybe and i cant sell iptv, but with no HD, that mean 3-4mb/s +8mb/s internet for each customer , its completely acceptance
