Has neone tried IP TV over Mikrotik. Getting over 80-100 mbps throughput over SXT shows me the way.
Can neone suggest some more on this.
I have tried things with IP Camera and VOIP. Just want to go a step further with IPTV.
Need a layout/design since I have no clue about IPTV.(I mean w.r.t the equipments being used for transmission/broadcasting)
Someone running it over cable can also suggest so I can take it a step ahead by replacing cables with pair of SXt’s
hi
SXT 5HnD is a low cost, high speed 5GHz wireless device. Dual polarization 802.11n and Nv2 TDMA technology help to achieve even 200Mbit real throughput speed.

You should look into a routed network with use of multicast to avoid wasting more bandwidth if you connect several users.
Tested all those things on the MTCINE course a couple of weeks ago and it was fascinating how the the routers avoid wasting bandwidth.
Usually people will watch single HD stream at a time. So with 100mbit I can go for like 20 clients per SXT. Even if it is 15 clients, I guess it is worth. Terminating the SXT to a L2 switch and capping each port at 5mbps.
IPTV (multicast) works fine over wireless, but…
on 100M wireless link with good signal we can push 5-7 SD channels without frame drops, or one HD channel but with bitrate less than 15-20M.
So, for one clent its good solution ).
