Hey all,
i’m doing a large scale deployment of RouterOS in the next 3 months and i’m looking for IPV6 support - NATIVE. the network i’m building is going to be pure ipv6.
After e-mails to MikroTik go unanswered ( I also e-mailed them about a commerical support contract) i turn to the forums, hopefully someone from Mikrotik will see this and respond.
The company i am working for is willing to PAY mikrotik to put ipv6 into routeros 2.9 and is also looking for a commerical support contract with them.
If somone from mikrotik could contact me here that would be handy
Cheers
P.S we are looking at around 100 Nodes with over 2000 CPE gear attached using NStream for our network
It is planned, but just no exact date has been set for this feature to be added.
I have bad news for you : this drastical change won’t be implemented in three months. I’m not any representative of company, I just state this solely on my opinion based on previous changes. Development takes more time… a lot of time.
You probably won’t have commercial support from company, also. They would need to have some dedicated resources for you and that’s probably not going to happen.
I fully understand your 3000 node constraints, but…
I’m aware that it takes time and we are working with a plan to ptu in place ipv-4 in the mean time but ipv-6 is important to us, which is why we are offering to PAY for dev costs.
As for a commerical support contract once again it comes down to money, if they dont have the personal required then perhaps the money we are offering would given them a chance to hire one.
Personally i dont care if Mikrotik has to hire 12 programmers on 6 month contracts to get IPV-6 in their, we would pay for it at 10 times the price
