IPv6 Help Needed

Hello.

I am new to MikroTek but do have a networking background. I am having issues with adding IPv6 to our MikroTek router which is currently connected to a juniper router. Our setup is as follows:

Juniper Router → Switch on VLAN 239 which has access to the following IPv6 assignment:

vlan 239:
2a00:7760:239::/64 -net
2a00:7760:239::1 - default gateway

I currently have my test MikroTek unit connected to the switch on the sfp1 port. What I need to do is configure this interface to use IPv6 and then allow the ether2 interface to access some of the IPv6 addresses. There is no need for translation etc as we have a large allocation from Ripe.

I did email mikrotek support but as of yet don’t have a good answer on how to do this. Our ether2 link currently on IPv4 has NAT installed and a local IP range issued but we should not need to do this for the IPv6 though im not sure if what I am trying to do is possible.

Thanks,

If you want to have the RouterBoard access VLAN 239 you will have to add a corresponding VLAN interface to SFP1. You can then allocate the VLAN interface IPV6 address (say) 2a00:7760:239::2.

I am not sure what you mean by “allow the ether2 interface to access some of the IPv6 addresses”. You mean allocate it to a different /64?
