IPv6 - Identity Association for Non-temporary Address

Hello!

I’ve been doing some tests on the TP-Link Archer C20 and came across something.
In it’s IPv6 implementation, it requests a IPv6 address for the WAN interface, and it doesn’t work without it.
We’ve noticed that, in the solicitation packet, the TP-Link requests the Identity Association for Non-temporary Address, but Mikrotik doesn’t return it.

Reading through the forum, it appears that Mikrotik doesn’t hand out IPv6 addresses directly, it only does prefix delegation, correct?

Regards.

Yes, MikroTik has an increasingly obvious weakness in IPv6.

Their DHCPv6 service is prefix delegation only. MikroTik posters have shown their lack of knowly by posting replies about SLAAC being the only way to address hosts.

In the first and the last working method of IPv6 addresses assigning in Tik - SLAAC, you can have only permanent link-local IPv6 address, permanent none routable IPv6 address and prefix, temporary and routable IPv6 address and prefix, also DNS servers for those who understand DNS servers option in router advertisement(none windows)
