IPv6 over PPP interfaces

I configured a linux xl2tpd server with IPv6 enabled, and I can connect to it from RouterOS. But I only get assigned a link-local address, which works. I can ping fe80::1 (the server) and fe80::2 (the routerboard) from each other just fine.

How can I get the routerboard to configure a Global address? RADVD on the Linux host doesn’t seem to work, as ROS seems to ignore RA messages over the PPP link.

Do I have to wait until ROS supports DHCPv6? Will it work over PPP links? Windows seems to be requesting an IP with dhcp6 over the PPP link. ROS doesn’t do that.

I am also waiting for the same feature. Some of the new routers (Apple so far) is now supporting IPv6 and we would like to deploy it as well.

You’ll have to manually configure it at the moment. DHCPv6 should be ready in about two weeks or so from what I saw this morning.

Do tell

most probably it will be done in 2 weeks time, you can look up normis post where he said that. However everything can happen, but it will be ready soon.. ish.

Great, i’ll get the party hats ready!
