Is anyone using mikrotik MPLS/VPLS in production?

Hi All,
I’ve been watching the mikrotik MPLS/VPLS capabilities closely and have been testing them in a lab scenario. It looks quite good so far. Can anyone share with me their experiences of it in a production environment? I’m particularly interested in what hardware you are using to run it, are you inter-operating with any other routers in the MPLS cloud etc…
I’d like to build a network on it but there seems to be very little out there at the moment in terms of real-world experiences with the mikrotik implementation.

I’ve been testing across one of my local networks (home use only*) but I don’t see why you couldn’t just lay it on top of a non-critical ospf routed network, then disable the MPLS side of it if you encounter any problems.

*Home network comprises of 5 routers (3 wireless)

I thought I’d bump this thread, because it’s been a while since I asked.

Is anyone using mikrotik MPLS in production? How is it performing speed and stability-wise?

i’ve test the 3.19 with routing-test and mpls-test, for use MPLS incl. VPLS and disable the EoIP-Tunnels in the network. The system have problem in the ospf-routing and it was very unstable.
I downgrade the ~50 MT’s after 4 hour to 3.17 with routing-package without mpls-test an MPLS/VPLS.

…hope the 3.21 was better…

I’ve been doing testing in a lab set-up for some months, the OSPF-test stuff doesn’t really seem to be robust enough for production yet and we’re also really waiting for Fast Reroute to be implemented before MPLS will be of any great benefit to us. Currently if a links fails it seems to take around 10 minutes for MPLS to realise and start re-routing data over secondary paths. With Fast Reroute I believe this should happen in around 50ms.

Anyone got any news yet on when Fast Reroute will be available?
