is CCR1016-12G able to handle this?
the environment is hostel. so i have max 400 concurrent users.
i will using this router to do this jobs:
1)Load balancing with 4 X 20Mbps(Download/upload)-dynamic ip address from ISP
2)NAT
3)Qos
4)Hotspot authentication with limited time (all wireless access)
5)DHCP server
6)Equal bandwidth base on active users.
7)remote access
is CCR1016-12G able to handle this?
or any recommendation?
I think this is the router for you.
Because we’ve done some similar projects and the amount of load is somewhat less than that, We don’t had problems with this router and the RB1100AHx2 been responsive.
But I think to ensure more and the ability to upgrade in the future better use of the CCR1036-12G-4S.
I think CCR series is better than RB series in your case. Here is an example which with 5x20Mbps load balance, policy route, about 100 users, hotspot and qos. It’s using x86 version ROS with an Intel E2140 1.6GHz x2 and 512MB RAM.
the environment is hostel. so i have max 400 concurrent users.
Are they all at the same time online I suggest you also to take a bigger one
or you have the time to wait until all cores are smooth working on ROS
it would be the router for you I think, but the CCR1036 would be a better choice for you
1)Load balancing with 4 X 20Mbps(Download/upload)-dynamic ip address from ISP
Pretty sure it will.
2)NAT
Yes it will if you setting up a netfilter rule first and then a second one that tells
all other rules using the netfilter rule first, you also have SPI in the game!
3)Qos
If massively QoS rules will be used the entire router performance
can be really narrowed down, but this is also pending on the multi core
usage that is not really running now, as I see it.
4)Hotspot authentication with limited time (all wireless access)
5)DHCP server
6)Equal bandwidth base on active users.
7)remote access
