Is it possible to collect info about traffic in order to use it for subscribers accounting? What do I need to do in order to use MikroTik routers along with billing systems (like NetUP UTM and others)?
Radius comes to mind…
Have your ever used NetUP UTM 5 for this purpose? Or what software would be good?
Nopes, I haven’t. But I don’t believe there is another way to get per user stats from MT except Radius…
From their web site:
Compatible Network Hardware:
Linux/FreeBSD/Windows Based PC Routers
Netflow v.5 & Cisco IP Accounting Compatible Hardware
Any Device
Sample Hardware: Cisco, MikroTik, NSG, Revolution, Cabletron, Huawei.
Compatible Dial-up Hardware:All RADIUS-enabled Devices
Sample Hardware: Cisco AS5350, USR NetServer, Lucent MAX6000, Huawei, NSG, PC-based NAS.
- You can use NetFlow - that’s also supported in MT, but IMHO, it would be hard to get stats on a per USER level instead of a per IP level (which netflow reports)
- NetUP UTM 5 according to their own web site, supports Radius Accounting Data…
I don’t see what the problem is? ![]()
