Is it possible to use a serial console on the hap lite / 941-2nd

Hi,

The hap lite / 941-2nd has a jtag pad and what appears to be a serial interface pad (4 pins: rx,tx,3.3v,gnd)

I soldered a idc header onto it and made a level converter to 3.3v (my usb-ttl cable is 5.5v.) But I can’t get anything out of it on boot. Is it possible to get the bootloader to present a console like the 433ah does? (that’s my only other routerboard experience).

I’m guessing I’ll likely kill the board if I plug my 5.5v into it… (it has a 3.3v vcc pin on it which I am not actually using), so I thought I’d check that I havent missed something obvious before I resort to that…

Am I way offline here? Is it possible to talk to the bootloader via the serial on this board? Have I missed something?

Kind Regards,

Andrew

It is not possible. On production models, some parts are missing for this to work. Also, a special bootloader would be required.

Ok.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

I have one more question: How about the JTAG? is that also disabled on production boards?

Kind Regards,

Andrew
